An Overview of the South Waikato

The South Waikato District is centrally located in the North Island of New Zealand. South Waikato’s three main towns –Tokoroa, Putaruru and Tirau, are linked by State Highway One, providing easy access to the North Island, while Arapuni, to the West of Putaruru, is along the Waitomo Caves tourist route and has real tourism appeal with the Waikato River Trail and Arapuni Swing Bridge as existing drawcards.

There is a large amount of affordable zoned land available for both residential and industrial expansion ready for development, and well developed trade sectors in the District who charge less than many of the trade’s people in the larger centres.

The District is blessed with all the facilities of a larger centre, there are a host of recreational and cultural activities for residents and visitors to enjoy and the central location offers a number of advantages to residents, within an hours drive you can be at Hamilton, Taupo, the tourism mecca of Rotorua, major ski-fields or the golden sand of Mount Maunganui.
