Education and Training Facilities

In addition to excellent pre-school facilities and schools, including 3 secondary schools and bi-lingual and Kura Kuapapa primaries, the District is well provided for by industry training and tertiary institutions.

Waiariki Institute of Technology and Te Wananga O Aotearoa have campuses at Tokoroa, and provide numerous industry and pre-employment training options and a range of courses to suit the needs of the community and local businesses.

The Trade Training Centre is such a course which offers an engineering programme specifically suited to the needs of engineering companies in the District delivered through Waiariki Institute of Technology.

The University of Waikato, located in nearby Hamilton, also provides options for tertiary education and distance learning.
